The Gilbert Days Parade: Saturday, November 21

The parade steps off at 8:30 AM on Saturday, November 21, 2026, in the Heritage District, and the Town lists it as running 8:30 to 11 AM, rain or shine. It starts on Gilbert Road between Elliot Road and Juniper Avenue and heads south to the Gilbert Public Schools District Office just south of Elliot Road. The Town expects the parade to wrap up around 10:30 AM.

This year's theme is Hollywood in the Heritage District, and the Town says more than 80 floats and entries are on the list. The parade dates back nearly 70 years, to a celebration of the paving of Gilbert Road, so you will see plenty of families who have come for generations.

One note: a few sections of the Town's Gilbert Days pages still show November 22. The parade page and the Town events calendar both say Saturday, November 21. Take a quick look at the Town page the week of the event to confirm.

Parade parking and road closures

Parking on Gilbert Road is not allowed at any time on parade morning. The Town points people to lots around the Heritage District, including the free Vaughn Avenue and Hearne Way parking garages. Gilbert Road is closed from Guadalupe Road to Hackamore Street from 5 AM to 11 AM, and Elliot Road is closed in all directions at the Gilbert Road intersection.

The Gilbert Half Marathon also closes parts of Recker Road from 7 AM to 11 AM that morning, so leave extra time if you are driving in from the east. Shops along Gilbert Road may stay open, but check their hours before you count on breakfast there.

The route is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs and walkers, and leashed pets are welcome. Bring a bag for clean up.

Gilbert Days Festival on the new Ocotillo Bridge

Later that day, the festival runs from 4 to 9 PM on Saturday, November 21, rain or shine. It is held on the brand new Ocotillo Bridge, and the Town describes it as a one time chance to walk the bridge deck before it opens to traffic in December. Expect live music, food and drinks, and family activities.

The Town's lineup lists Double Deuce from 5 to 6:30 PM and Nineball from 7 to 8:30 PM. Admission is free, though the Town asks everyone to RSVP on the festival page so it can plan. Parking is at Gilbert Regional Park, with free shuttles running between the lot and the festival the whole evening.

Gilbert Days Rodeo, November 19 to 22

The Gilbert Days Rodeo is put on by the Gilbert Promotional Corporation, a group founded in 1978 to keep western heritage alive in town. It takes place at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre, 20464 E. Riggs Road in Queen Creek. The official rodeo site lists Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 PM, with free entry if you bring a pair of new socks, then Friday, November 20 at 7 PM, Saturday, November 21 at 5 PM and Sunday, November 22 at 2 PM.

Friday through Sunday shows are ticketed, and the price changes by day and seat type, so check the rodeo site for current prices. Gates open two hours before each show. If you want to do the parade, the festival and the rodeo all on Saturday, know that the rodeo and the festival overlap.

Practical tips for the day

Late November mornings in Gilbert can start cool and warm up fast, and evenings drop again after sunset. Dress in layers you can tie around your waist, and bring water for the kids. For the parade, a folding chair or blanket and an early arrival will get you a better spot. For the festival, plan on the shuttle from Gilbert Regional Park rather than hunting for a closer space.

Here is the short version of free versus paid: the parade is free to watch, the festival is free with an RSVP, and the rodeo is ticketed except for the Thursday sock night. Food and drinks at each event are extra.
